Whidden Jewelry

Originally from Cleveland, I made my way to Colorado in 2012 to pursue academics. Upon arrival in the town of Durango, I was quickly fascinated by a college roommate's mineral collection. With curiosities building as to how crystallization occurred, I decided to take a mineralogy course where I was already a student at Fort Lewis College. Fully intrigued by the chemistry and optical properties that define each mineral, I started my own collection and learned how to create jewelry by wire-wrapping. Then, with a geology degree in hand from Fort Lewis, a couple apprenticeships and a growing passion I dedicated myself to the design and creation of jewelry. Currently my focus is stone-setting, lost wax casting and fabrication.
